We recently sent out this very important email blast to our Managed Service customers. We have decided to post it to a blog so that everyone can benefit from the information, business that aren’t currently partnered with Tech II.
Hacking vulnerability caused by Apple pulling support for QuickTime for Windows prompted the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to release an urgent warning to users. In the alert, the US Department of Homeland Security stressed removing QuickTime from all PCs and devices running on the Windows OS immediately.

Ultimately, it’s up to you and/or your IT department to determine whether or not you should uninstall QuickTime. We recommend that our clients uninstall the software if it isn’t a necessary business application. If you are currently covered under Tech II’s Managed Threat Mitigation Suite, you will get the latest definition updates, ensuring the best protection against the vulnerabilities caused by the end of Apple’s QuickTime support. If you’re not under the umbrella of our Managed Threat Mitigation Suite, please make sure your anti-virus is turned on and the virus definitions are up to date.
